Pineapple politics: Corflutes contest an electoral masterpiece

Rob Skelton MP announced the winners of the Nicklin Corflute Competition, which brought out the creativity and artistic talent of Nicklin’s residents with 12 great entries.

Daina Byrne won first prize with her playful and colourful piece, “Pineapple Rob”, pictured, with its vibrant, local theme featuring cane fires in the background. Daina also won the People’s Choice Award.

Joint second prize went to Billie Baxter for her striking “Rob Skeletor” and Michelle O’Brien for her bold creation, “Franken-Rob.” Both pieces demonstrated originality and a strong technique, impressing the judging panel.

Third prize was awarded to Donna Cooper for her sophisticated piece titled “Dame Rob,” which displayed a unique artistic interpretation of Rob Skelton MP’s political presence in an homage to the late Barry Humphrey’s character.

Rob Skelton MP congratulated the winners and expressed his gratitude to all participants:

“The creativity and talent that came through in these entries was astounding. It’s wonderful to see how our community can blend art and politics in such innovative ways.

“Thank you to everyone who participated, the people who donated a prize and a special thank you to our judges for lending their time and expertise.”
