Arts Connect is excited to announce that tickets are now available for the much-anticipated annual event, Sculpture on the Edge, to be held at the scenic Flaxton Gardens from November 23 to December 10.
Under the stewardship of Festival Director Gretchen Keelty, the annual event has grown exponentially in scope and reach, from a simple competition to a community art festival, being a testament to the team’s dedication to amplifying the creative spirit on the Sunshine Coast.
Gretchen said tickets were competitively priced to ensure accessibility for all: Adults at $10, Concession at $5, and free entry for children aged 17 and younger.
“Visitors can look forward to a plethora of local flavours with food and beverages available from Flaxton Gardens and regional producers,” she said. “From breakfast offerings to exclusive dining experiences, the culinary aspect of the event is not to be missed.”
The 18-day cultural affair has become a highlight of the Sunshine Coast’s event calendar.
“Sculpture on the Edge is more than an art competition,” said Gretchen. “It is a collective celebration of creativity, learning, and cultural appreciation.”
This year’s edition, the 13th of its kind, continues to weave the captivating charm of sculpture with a diversified array.
“The event showcases an international competition of stunning sculptures and also provides a platform for attendees to engage, learn, and enjoy the artistry and unlock their own creativity through various interactive events,” she said.
Event Highlights Include:
• General Admission: Explore the beauty of indoor and outdoor sculptures within the gorgeous confines of Flaxton Gardens, opening a sensory journey through visual masterpieces.
• Expert-Led Workshops: Learn from the best with sessions by acclaimed artists Cam Crossley, Jessica Ashton, Robert Dujin and Monte Lupo Arts. Limited spaces ensure personalized attention, so early booking is advised.
• The Sculpted Dinner: The Flaxton Gardens Team will present a menu to tantalise the senses, highlighting the incredible local produce of the Sunshine Coast. Together with entertainment and a live auction, “A night unlike any other” will occur on December 2.
