‘Rainbrella Project’ wins recognition as a Best of Queensland Experience

The Ginger Factory Rainbrella Project has been recognised with an award.

Nestled in the rainforest gardens at The Ginger Factory, the colourful Rainbrella Project has recently been recognised by Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) as a 2024 Best of Queensland Experience.

“We are absolutely thrilled with this recognition,” said Marketing Manager Brenda Bailey.

“The Best of Queensland Experiences Program (BOQEP) is an innovative program that guides the Queensland tourism industry to deliver exceptional transformational experiences,” she said. “Social media has been integral to our promotion of this fabulous installation, and it has helped our team to create positive word of mouth marketing, which has attracted increasing numbers of visitors to this beautiful part of Queensland.

The Rainbrella Project is a free entry art installation made up of hundreds of rainbow umbrellas floating in the garden canopy.

“This captivating installation provides the most Instagram-worthy photo opportunities,” Mrs Bailey said.

Created in collaboration with local Sunshine Coast artist, Sophy Blake, the installation aims to bring joy, happiness, and peace to those who wander through the colourful path.

“The Rainbrella Project is such a joyful aspect of our grounds and you cannot help but smile when you see it,” said Mrs Bailey.

“It appeals to visitors of all ages, and really, that is what The Ginger Factory is all about.”
