Palmwoods Warriors Football Club celebrates another successful season
The fields at Jubilee Park were alive with excitement recently as more than 200 juniors from Palmwoods Warriors Football Club celebrated the conclusion of another successful soccer season.
The Hinterland club proudly had eight teams reach the Grand Finals in 2024—more than any other club in the competition.
“The joy and laughter of the children truly embodied the spirit and unity of the club,” said Palmwoods Warriors President, Adam Mathieson. He added that the young athletes not only developed their soccer skills but also learned valuable life lessons about perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The season breakup party brought together players, families, and coaches in a festive celebration of their achievements. Highlights of the day included the annual Parents vs Kids game, jumping castles, a barbecue, and awards to recognise outstanding player achievements. There was also a heartfelt thank you to the club’s volunteers and sponsors, who were integral to the club’s success. A special moment during the event was the presentation of Life Membership to Mrs Taryn Powell, in recognition of her dedication, passion, and her outstanding contribution to the growth of women’s and girls’ soccer at the club.
Looking ahead
Looking ahead to 2025, the club is gearing up for a year filled with excitement as it approaches its 50th anniversary. “We are more committed than ever to growing our membership, especially focusing on empowering our girls’ teams,” Mathieson said. Increasing female participation in soccer remains a key priority for the club as it seeks to provide more opportunities for young girls to develop their skills and confidence both on and off the field.
