Builder’s innovative modular homes lay foundation for statewide success with four major wins
Yandina -based modular builder Oly Homes has secured four major awards across two prestigious industry events, positioning the company as a strong contender for the upcoming Queensland HIA-CSR Housing Awards.
Their affordable and sustainable housing solutions saw Oly Homes take home two awards at the 2024 Master Builders Queensland Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards, which they then followed up with two more wins at the HIA Sunshine Coast & Wide Bay Housing Awards this month for their Steel Frame Project and Modular and Prefabricated Housing.
These achievements have now placed the Yandina-based company in the running for the Queensland HIA-CSR Housing Awards which will take place in Brisbane on the 8th of November.
General Manager Steven Nousala said their award-winning projects stood out for their combination of innovative design, superior craftsmanship, and thoughtful functionality.
“Each home was tailored to meet the unique needs of Queensland’s environment, incorporating energy-efficient features like advanced insulation, steel framing for durability, and eco-conscious materials.
“What set these projects apart was our commitment to precision and customer collaboration, ensuring every detail reflected both high-quality construction and the client’s vision," Steven said.
Oly Homes incorporates sustainability and energy efficiency by using high-quality insulation in walls, ceilings, and subfloors to enhance thermal performance, and they utilise energy-efficient glazing to reduce heat transfer and improve climate control.
Steven added that these features minimise energy consumption and create comfortable, sustainable living spaces.
“Our steel frame and modular homes stand out for their durability, precision, and sustainability. Steel frames provide strength, termite resistance, and longevity, while modular construction ensures faster builds with minimal waste.”
Being in the running for the Queensland HIA awards means they are now competing with the best in the state, and the team is motivated to continue innovating, refining processes, and exceeding customer expectations.
“This recognition shapes our future goals by driving us to push boundaries, uphold high standards, and further establish Oly Homes as a leader in modular construction,” Steven said.
Following the awards, Oly Homes is set to expand into a new custom-built facility to boost production capabilities while also developing new home designs, including multi-storey modular concepts, to meet the evolving demands of the market.
“Exciting growth is ahead and these initiatives reflect our commitment to innovation and position us at the forefront of the modular construction industry.”
