Ballot positions decided for October 26 Election

The official ballot draw for Queensland’s State Government Election, conducted by the Electoral Commission on October 8, has set the final order of candidates, a key moment in the campaign.

The ballot position can influence voting outcomes, particularly through ‘donkey votes,’ where voters list candidates in the order they appear on the ballot.

In Nicklin, Labor’s Rob Skelton secured the second spot, ahead of his main rival, LNP candidate Marty Hunt, who landed in sixth.

Mr Skelton narrowly defeated Hunt by 60 votes in 2020.

In Glass House, sitting member Andrew Powell took third place, followed by ALP challenger Humphrey Caspersz Jnr in fourth.

Early voting started on Monday, October 14, and will run until Friday, October 25, with polling stations in Nambour (Currie St) and Maleny (Community Centre).

Election day is Saturday, October 26, with voting between 8am and 6pm.
