Woombye Community Library News
by Cathy Cash

In a finishing touch to the landscape design on Blackall Street outside the School of Arts Hall and Library a new Woombye town map has been installed by Council.

Detailing local services, businesses and places of historical interest the map is an attractive and useful resource for visitors to the area.

In library news this month we have our annual general meeting coming up on 16 July.  Any interested community members who would like more information can contact the library on 54422250 or drop in to chat with one of our volunteers.  Our opening hours are 9am – 12md and 2pm – 5pm Monday to Friday, plus 9am – 12md on Saturdays. A reminder that there are two half hour carparks outside the hall on Hill Street for the convenience of library visitors.

On Saturday 20 July we will also be holding our second Balcony Book Sale of the year from 8am to midday.  With book  prices starting from just $1.00 there will be genres to satisfy all readers, including the kids.

Our Winter Warmer raffle is up and running with a basket of fun winter-themed goodies to be won.  Tickets are on sale now at the library, and the draw will take place following our Book Sale on July 20.

All proceeds from our Book Sales and raffles go back into new book purchases and keeping our treasured local Community Library ticking along for the benefit of hinterland readers.
