New faces at Nambour News. Now doing phone repairs

Andrew Nguyen and Sofia Du have been heartened by the welcome they have received. And they are offering phone repair services through the agency.

Nambour locals will by now have seen the new faces at the Nambour News ‘N Casket Agency in Currie Street.

Andrew Nguyen and Sofia Du have taken over the agency and have been heartened by the welcome they have received.

“We have lived in Perth and Sydney, but when we came to Nambour, the beautiful weather and the friendliness of the people reminded me of my hometown,” said Andrew.

“I felt like I was coming home. We have been blown away by how lovely our customers are. It’s a real bonus.”

The agency provides newspaper and magazine delivery, stationary, printer cartridges, beautiful greeting cards and gifts, Lottery and tobacco products, GoCard and phone top-ups and phone repairs and accessories.

“Phones are actually my specialty,” Andrew said. “I am an electrical engineer by trade and have been repairing phones for more than 8 years.

“I have another technician working with me and together we have 15 years of experience in this field. In fact, when Telstra are not able to help people sort their phones out, they tend to refer them to me!

“I have a lot of experience helping people set up their phones and I have found that setting up smartphones can be a frustrating experience, particularly for elderly people, or those who don’t have a lot of confidence with technology. I am always more than happy to help. It is a big relief for people to get their contacts and apps updated and their phones running smoothly.

“I am able to offer the phone services at the best prices because I have incorporated that aspect of the business into the newsagency, so I only have one set of overheads. It makes a high quality phone repair service extremely affordable. My customers know that they can trust me to get the job done properly for them”.

Andrew and Sofia are planning to bring new products into the shop as well as ongoing promotions for their customers.

“We are definitely looking forward to serving our current customers and meeting some new ones as well.”

• Nambour News ‘N Casket Agency is at Shop 28, 52-54 Currie Street Nambour.
