It’s 3pm on another busy afternoon in Josh’s prep classroom and, along with other classmates, he’s waiting patiently to be picked up by his older sister Emily.

A happy and bright year 10 student, 15 year old Emily enjoys the daily routine of walking from her high school to the adjoining primary school to collect her little brother Josh for their walk home together.

This family drop-off and pick up arrangement takes place every day at Nambour State College.

Not every school can offer a fully supported, cohesive and family-oriented educational experience from prep right through to year 12.

Ali O’Neill (pictured with prep student Elsi Wright) is one such student whose academic journey, like her siblings before her, began and ended at Nambour State College. Ali began prep in 2008 and is now finishing her year 12 studies.

“What’s been so positive about my time here is that it was really easy starting year 7 because I had already visited the senior campus many times and I’ve always found the teachers very supportive and easy to talk to, especially when giving you advice.

“I’ve also loved the opportunity of being able to participate in the dance program which has allowed me to gain my certificate III in dance.

“One of the highlights of my experience here has also definitely been the friendships I’ve formed.”

Not every school can offer a fully supported, cohesive and family-oriented educational experience from prep right through to year 12.

Nambour State College’s goal is to provide a wide range of educational initiatives that focus on developing student abilities academically, culturally, socially and mentally.

The College does this through its excellence programs, pastoral care and support to enable a seamless transition from primary to high school and the commitment of its dedicated teachers and staff.

• To find out what the College has to offer, all families are invited to their open night on 30 March 2021.
