Show time approaches in Nambour: June 16, 17, 18

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is on June 16, 17 & 18.

Fresh from the Maleny Show, horse whisperer Guy McLean is coming to Nambour.

The highly anticipated Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show at Nambour Showgrounds is just around the corner and this year’s event is set to be a spectacular showcase of talent, excitement and entertainment. Show Society President Rowan O'Hara said international horse whisperer Guy McLean would be a highlight of the Show.

“We’re excited to bring Guy to this year’s show ring,” he said. “People will be able to watch his highly-trained horses move with precision and grace in the evening show ring entertainment. We’ll have the Light Horse tent pegging competition then Aussie FMX will be taking to the heights as they free-fly through the air on their motorbikes to jump across the showgrounds with precision.”

On Saturday and Sunday evenings, the air will be filled with high-octane noise as the V8 Supercars race around the track.

And it wouldn’t be the same without the big spectacular fireworks in the evening.

During the day the ElJay Freestyle Entertainment show will demonstrate their amazing prowess on motorcycle and bicycle in an action-packed stunt show delivered with a comical twist.

Little ones will love Professor Wallace’s Puppets as the Big Bad Wolf chases others across the stage.

“When it’s time to relax the BOQ Nambour Hill is the place to be as local singers, dancers and performers entertain you on the RSL Community stage,” said Mr O’Hara.

The MacKellar Mining Education Stage will give insights into animal husbandry and many other topics from bee keeping, to sheep shearing and more.

There’s also a free petting zoo for the kids.

Competitions Open

Mr O’Hara urged people to get their entries in for competitions. “Some sections close early so people should make sure to get their entries in as soon as they can,” he said. “If you need help with how to enter, contact the Show Office.

Free parking is available at the train station and at Council chambers. From there, catch the free shuttle bus to the main gate.
