Police commit to more consistent presence in Kenilworth

Senior Constable Michael Grigalius commenced on Monday  November 27 and will reside in town.

Sunshine Coast District Superintendent Craig Hawkins has reassured Kenilworth residents the Queensland Police Service is aware that concerns have been raised in the area regarding the absence of the town’s regular police officer.

“I can provide some reassurance that I am aware and monitoring the challenges this absence causes however (we) have put measures into place to ensure this community is being provided with a policing service.

“Whilst relieving officers have taken up the position for some of the time the regular officer has been absent, there has been times where this wasn’t possible.  However, where a police officer hasn’t been stationed at Kenilworth, a policing response has been provided by neighbouring divisions.

“We are working towards providing a more consistent local presence and to that end Senior Constable Michael Grigalius commenced on Monday 27th November, residing in Kenilworth to provide a local policing presence and response and continue with the commitment we have to the Kenilworth community.”
