Some more of Nambour’s history is now featured in a new outdoor display at the Nambour Museum.

The Foundation Stone and Official Opening Stone from the former Civic Hall are now prominently on display at the front of the museum.

Nambour Museum President Clive Plater said the stones had spent many years in storage at the Sunshine Coast Council’s Nambour Works Depot.

He said the stones were very heavy items and on loan from the Sunshine Coast Council’s heritage collection. Therefore, special consideration went into the design of the mounting for them.

The project was carried out by museum volunteers and funded by a grant from the Sunshine Coast Council’s Heritage Levy – Collection Care Program 2020-21.
