Merv celebrates his 100th birthday

Mervyn (Merv) Latham, a well-known Palmwoods resident for many years, celebrated his 100th birthday on November 13. Merv has retired to the Gold Coast but still has a keen interest in what is happening around Palmwoods and the hinterland.

Merv is a Member of Waverly Palmwoods Nambour Lodge No: 249 of Freemasons and he still takes an active interest in the lodge.

The Lodge celebrated this wonderful milestone of Merv’s 100th birthday by presenting him with a commemorative plaque honouring this special occasion.

Merv still keeps very active and busy. He is fully involved with the Veterans Association at Currumbin, helping to establish a garden for them to relax and spend time growing their own vegetables and he is fully supported by his partner Elspeth.
