Mapleton launches survey to address parking concerns

Wendy Turton: “There are community concerns that insufficient parking in the village is negatively impacting local businesses and customers.”

The Mapleton & District Community Association (MADCA) has taken steps to tackle the growing concerns surrounding parking issues in the village. With the aim of improving the parking situation and supporting local businesses, MADCA has initiated a parking survey that will run through August.

“There are community concerns that insufficient parking in the village is negatively impacting local businesses and customers,” said MADCA spokesperson Wendy Turton.

MADCA says that by understanding the parking dynamics in the community, informed decisions can be made to improve parking infrastructure and enhance the overall liveability of Mapleton.

MADCA is running an online parking survey to raise awareness of the issue and lobby for easier, safer parking.

“We will also have paper copies at the Mapleton Country Market on August 26,” said Wendy. “We need help to spread the word because someone is sabotaging our efforts by removing our flyers from the community noticeboards.”
