Historic Maleny Show: Monster raffle offers fantastic prizes

The Salvation Army is presenting a May 13 concert entitled ‘When the Army Comes to Town’, featuring world renowned pianist, Errol Duck-Chong.

This year marks the 100 years since the first Maleny Show was organised and the Show Society are pulling out all stops to make it a huge celebration of the Show’s history and all it represents.

“Amongst many other things, we are particularly excited about our Monster Raffle,” said organiser, Lynda Burgess.

“The idea for the Raffle came about when Karen Heading and myself were inviting businesses to attend a ‘Launch’ for this year’s event. Ben Messina offered a print rather than money and suggested that he would prefer this method as we would be able to raise more funds for the Show,” she said.

“The whole thing has just grown from there and thanks to the generosity of our local business sponsors such as Ben, Maleny Jewellers, D&F Motors Landsborough, Rosetta Books, Maleny Food Co, Tranquil Park, Stanley House Booroobin, Shop Maleny visa Cards, Lorraine Lea and Jodie Hamlin-Harris we have some wonderful prizes on offer for just $2 a ticket.”

This year’s Maleny Show will be held on the  June 2 and 3 and the prizes from the Monster Raffle will be drawn on Saturday afternoon at the Showgrounds. Raffle tickets will be on sale in Maple Street outside Seasons IGA on the 28th of April and the 6th of May, and through the Kiosk at the Community Centre on the 1st, 12th and 17th of May.
