LNP announces upgrade for dangerous intersection
The LNP will upgrade the intersection at Landsborough Maleny Road and Maleny Montville Road to increase road safety for motorists around Maleny, Montville and the Blackall Range if elected next month.
LNP Member for Glass House Andrew Powell said residents, tourists and commercial traffic would benefit from the improvements.
“This $7M project will ensure every taxpayer dollar is invested to deliver the maximum benefit,” said Mr Powell.
“This upgrade to Landsborough Maleny Road and Maleny Montville Road intersection will ensure locals and tourists alike will get home or to their holiday safer and sooner.
“We know the locals are fed up with these dangerous intersections.
Long time Maleny resident Chris Maylor welcomed the announcement and said it would give drivers peace of mind and significantly reduce both the danger and the wait times at the intersection.
“A large portion of the community have been pleading for something to change at the intersection for quite some time,” said Mr Mayler.
“We understand Andrew Powell has continually lobbied for safety improvements, but his requests have fallen on deaf ears from consecutive Labor Government.
“This commitment would ensure that something is finally done for Maleny and surrounds,” said Mr Maylor.
Andrew Powell said Queenslanders could vote for the intersection upgrades and a Fresh Start for Queensland, by voting LNP on October 26.
“Only by voting 1 LNP will Queenslanders get a Fresh Start and projects like these intersection upgrades,” said Mr Powell.
“Labor is desperate to hold onto power, but unless we change the government, we’ll continue to get more of the same under Labor.
“This is the opportunity for a Fresh Start with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
