Church Auditorium a shining light in the heart of Nambour

Ignite Church Pastor Darin Browne outside the new Auditorium in Short Street: “Ignite is bringing a fresh, new approach to church”.

In a climate of fear, Ignite Church is shining a ray of hope into the centre of Nambour.

Having outgrown its historic, 100 year old Chapel in Pine Grove Road, Woombye, the church is busy moving to new premises at Short Street for a November 14 opening.

Pastor Darin Browne said the Church was looking to fulfil what it believes is God's call to love and care for the people of Nambour and the Hinterland.

“Moving to Nambour allows us to fulfill our church slogan ... Real People, Real Community, Real God,” Pastor Browne said.

“Ignite is about real, genuine people, creating a loving and accepting community, and allowing people’s lives to be transformed by a real God.”

The church has started a number of initiatives to care for the local community, including a strong association with Lily House, which provides a haven for single girls and young mothers on the Coast.

“Many of these girls and their families find a welcoming and accepting church family at Ignite Church,” Pastor Browne said.

“Ignite is bringing a fresh, new approach to church that emphasises genuine community, great teaching and powerful worship. We offer a youth program, kid's church, counselling and life courses, and these are available to everyone in our community.  Whatever your needs, culture or background, you will find a home at Ignite Church!”

• Ignite Church opens at 29 Short Street Nambour on November 14 at 9.30am.
