Home prices increase by up to $650,000

New data from Core Logic shows exactly how much hinterland house prices have exploded since the Covid pandemic.

Experts put the massive increases down to demand generated by southern migration to the Sunshine Coast coupled with record low interest rates.

The data from November 2021 reveals how much each suburb’s value has grown since March 2020. 

Median house prices in some suburbs have grown by more than $500,000 in 18 months. The highest price growth on the Sunshine Coast came from Sunshine Beach which saw a 74 percent rise from $1,780,000 to $3,100,000 a change of over a million dollars. 

The highest price growth in the Gazette readership footprint was at Chevallum which grew 70 percent to $1,575,000. 

  • Nambour median home prices grew by $133,500 to $545,000. 

  • Maleny home prices grew 28 percent to $802,500. 

  • Woombye home prices rose 42 percent to $518,00 while Yandina Creek saw a massive 77 percent increase.
