Happy 100th birthday to Woombye’s Terry Parkes

Happy 100th Terry Parkes

HE came to Australia as a young 10 pound pom and this week Woombye Care resident Terry Parkes celebrated his lucky life turning 100 years young.

His only daughter Pat Rogers told the Gazette her father arrived in Melbourne where he worked as a fitter and turner before moving to Nambour.

When his wife died in 2018, Mr Parkes moved into Woombye Care where he has been well looked after since the day he arrived.

Woombye Care staff prepared a beautiful morning tea to celebrate Mr Parkes' 100th birthday, one staff member made a beautiful cake for the party.

Mr Parkes was emotional as staff, residents and family surrounded him to sing happy birthday, it was a very special celebration.

Wishing Mr Terry Parkes and very happy 100th birthday, and many more to come.
