Childhood passion becomes a career for train driver
Tanis Fulcher’s love affair with trains began in his childhood, watching the cane trains drive through Howard Street in Nambour, and as a boy, Tanis and his family visited The Ginger Factory on many occasions to ride the train.
His fascination with locomotives grew over the years, eventually leading him to pursue his dream job as head train driver at The Ginger Factory.
He is now delighting passengers of all ages, bringing his infectious enthusiasm to every journey on ‘Moreton’ the iconic 123-year-old train.
For Tanis, steering the train is more than just a job; it’s a joyous adventure.
“I’ve been fascinated by trains my whole life and have been on many exciting trips by rail,” Tanis said.
“Tanis’ warm personality and genuine passion makes him a beloved figure among passengers,” said Marketing Manager, Brenda Bailey.
“Whether he’s narrating tales of the Sunshine Coast region’s locomotive history or simply spreading smiles, Tanis ensures that every journey is one that his passengers will never forget.”
Tanis says, “not everyone gets to live their dreams, but I get to everyday!”
Next time you visit The Ginger Factory, be sure to hop aboard ‘Moreton’ and say hello to Tanis.
