There’s plenty to do to keep you busy and active in the hinterland and each fortnight the Gazette will zoom in on one of the many activities available at local halls in the area. These tiny halls have traditionally been the epicentres of local events and they remain hubs of activities that are great for mind body and soul.

Take Line dancing for example. Line dancing is a choreographed routine of dancing in lines, which works the brain, uses different muscles, improves your balance and your memory, no partner required.

Line dance Instructor Barbara McAlister has been conducting classes on the Sunshine Coast for over 15 years.  During this time people of all ages and abilities have enjoyed the benefits of moving to music.

With an emphasis on fun, fitness and good company incorporating a wide variety of musical styles, line dancing with Barbara has nurtured a love of dance among her participants over many years.

Classes at Woombye Hall on Mondays, Beginners class at 9am with assistant Carmen.  Improvers/Intermediate classes from 10am with Barbara.  Other classes held at Yandina Hall and Nth Shore Community Centre, Mudjimba.

• Call Barbara for further information on 0407 733 280.
