Experience Natural Beauty at the Old Ambo exhibition

TAFE students recently had the opportunity to show off their breathtaking photographic skills at Nambour’s Old Ambulance Station Gallery, and now it’s time for their teachers to shine.

Natural Affinity is a big and beautiful collection of art interpreting the natural world around us, produced by 10 artists working at TAFE Qld East Coast. With drawings and ceramic art, contemporary photography, printmaking and painting, this exhibition encourages gallery visitors to consider our intertwined relationship with nature.

“We are all colleagues who work together as art teachers in various forms, so we have an affinity with each other,” says Andrew Bryant. “A recurring theme in all our works is a reference to nature, and that became the basis and title of this exhibition. We are all working as teachers to support our practice of art, and it’s a great feeling to have this show. There is always a purpose or need to produce art. We love what we do but it is more about feeling compelled to do it.”

The Old Ambo invites everyone to celebrate the colours, textures, and spirits of nature right here at 80 Howard St, Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Entry is free and Natural Affinity runs until July 11.
