Enjoy a Laugh at The Lind

After a tough year learning to present entertainment in new Covid-safe ways, Lind Lane theatre in Nambour is looking forward to presenting the Sunny Coast with more top quality theatre shows.

The Lind has been a fixture in Nambour for 75 years, presenting a wide combination of plays ranging from dramas to comedies and musicals. So it is appropriate to choose a work that has been delighting audiences for over a century.

Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw is many things to theatre-goers - a farcical comedy; a satire depicting the stupidity and ultimate futility of war; and a dig at class divisions and the concept of “higher love”.

The play takes place in a small Bulgarian town after a short lived war with Serbia, whose army has been routed by the Bulgarians’ heroic cavalry charge. A talented and experienced team of actors will portray the characters in Colonel Petkov’s household. Little do they know that their complacent existence is about to be upset when an enemy soldier fleeing from capture accidentally finds refuge there.

The Lind will transport you to a charming folk village by the magic of sets and costumes by professional theatre designer Anne Grant. We believe that you will love the results.

The play will run from February 26th to March 6th. Bookings are a must and can be made online at http://www.lindlane.com.au/watch or by telephone on 1300 732 764.

• There will also be a charity preview performance on Wednesday February 24 to benefit Helping Children Smile. To book for this performance, please telephone Malika on 0450 636 080.
