Sewing model born out of Covid goes from surviving to thriving

Deb Rowlands’ customers love the convenience of dropping off and collecting their alteration items whenever it suits. Demand has been such that it has required four lockers near her front door.

Business Writeup: Drop-Sew-Go

As businesses return from the devastating effects of the coronavirus, Deb Rowlands, owner of iSew4U Alterations & Dressmaking is thankful to share her journey from surviving to thriving.

In April 2020, Deb adjusted her business by offering customers a contactless Drop-Sew-Go service model born out of necessity for business survival. Initially, a single drop box was made available to customers for services that did not require fittings. The service has proved to be very well-received by customers.

“I had always hoped that I could come back stronger but with Covid there were no guarantees,” said Deb.

“They love the ease and convenience of dropping off and collecting their items whenever it suits. It has become so popular that I had to expand, and I wanted to make it more secure for customers.”

The new Drop-Sew-Go is a four-door secure locker system.

“Each of the boxes are a substantial size to fit lots of items such as a dozen curtains for hemming,” said Deb. “Customers can drop off any time into any unlocked door.”

When the alteration/repair service is complete Deb emails the invoice for payment and supplies a unique code for customers to access their items from the secure locker. For more information visit iSew4U.org/post/drop-sew-go or phone 0414 388 238.
