Virtuoso to bring musical storytelling to Maleny
St George’s in the Hills kicks off its 2025 concert series with renowned Sunshine Coast pianist Denis Feletto, who will bring a captivating blend of jazz improvisation and cinematic music to Maleny on Sunday, April 6.
Originally from Italy but now based with his family on the Sunshine Coast, Denis is actively engaged in the local music scene—teaching, performing and developing ‘musical storytelling’ in his presentations.
Trained in Italy, Denis has a degree in Classical Piano Performance and a master’s in Jazz Music and Orchestration for Film, Games and TV.
“My training and musical career have led me to explore jazz improvisation, the intersection of acoustic and digital music, and the evocative storytelling of film music in my performances,” he said.
“I like to bring fresh interpretations to familiar melodies to make my performances emotionally resonant, and this is popular with my audiences. It is what I will be presenting in Maleny, inviting my listeners to engage with me.”
The St George’s-in-the-Hills concert committee is excited by this new style concert, entitled Piano Stories.
“We are happy to present something new for our first concert in 2025, and we are sure our audiences will be delighted with Denis Feletto’s unique interpretation of familiar and not-so-familiar melodies,” said coordinator Susan Myring.
The committee will be providing free tea, coffee and refreshments in the hall after the show, where you will have the chance to meet Denis.
