Coronation House Dental offers ‘life changing’ dental implants
Dr Francois McDonald “Often, people are in tears when the treatment is done. They go from being people who never smile, to people who can’t stop smiling.”
Nambour’s Coronation House Dental has been an iconic practice in town for more than 50 years and since it changed ownership in August 2024, new life has been brought into both the practice and the building itself.
Dr Francois McDonald brings over 18 years of dental experience with him to Coronation House Dental, and he is currently in the process of renovating the building to not only refresh it, but to incorporate the latest in technology and equipment to provide cutting edge dental services to his patients.
Dr McDonald also has a dental practice in Gympie. “We have lived on the Sunshine Coast for many years and with a young family now, it is wonderful to be able to work a lot closer to home,” he said.
“I have just recently joined the Nambour Chamber of Commerce and am very much looking forward to meeting other business people in town.”
The old Coronation House building in Currie Street has already been refreshed with a coat of paint and signage, but the inside is being refit in two stages so that all aspects of treatment can now take place onsite. With four dentists and six support staff in the practice, the team can look after all aspects of dental care.
“We are absolutely committed to the dental health of our patients, because what most people don’t realise is that everything health related starts in the mouth,” Dr McDonald explained. “Poor dental health can have a terribly detrimental effect on overall health. When a person is suffering with periodontal disease, bacteria can end up in the bloodstream and make them extremely sick. Many people don’t make this connection.”
While Dr McDonald can look after all aspects of dental health for patients of all ages, his real passion lies with implants.
“I completed post graduate studies in implants because this is an aspect of dentistry that I find incredibly rewarding,” he said.
“Some of our implant patients have been self conscious about their teeth their entire lives. Watching the transformation is just incredible, and it happens relatively quickly.
“Often, people are in tears when the treatment is done. They go from being people who never smile, to people who can’t stop smiling. It can be life changing for them.”
