Compass Open Days offer glimpse into disability support

DISABILITY support programs are vital for empowering people with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives and participate in society.

Open Days, like those held by the Compass Institute from August to September allow prospective participants and families to explore support options directly, gaining insight into facilities, services, and care.

“Interacting with current program participants and families during Open Days provides valuable testimonials, helping individuals understand the program’s impact and alignment with their needs,” said Compass Marketing and Communications Co-ordinator, Clare Bonamy.

“This firsthand experience offers reassurance and confidence and Open Days also facilitate direct communication between families and program staff. This dialogue addresses concerns, ensuring tailored support for the individual with a disability.

“Service providers benefit by showcasing their commitment to inclusivity and transparency, fostering trust and partnership with families.

“The impact of a well-suited disability support program is immense, fostering skills, independence, and community engagement. Open Days significantly aid families in making this crucial choice by offering an immersive and enlightening experience,” she said.

Compass is running Open Days across all campuses and enterprises throughout August and early September. The Compass Farm, located in Hunchy, will be open on August 31, 10am-2pm, and will be showcasing the diverse range of NDIS-funded programs as well as the incredible staff and trainees who attend. Registration is required and you can register on the Compass website compassinc.org.au.
