Best advice you have ever received and who did you get it from? “Never do anything wrong, so you don’t have to look over your shoulder” – my father.

What has been your most memorable moment? The birth of each of my six children.

What’s one thing you love about your job? That in litigation, no two files are the same and you meet some very interesting and some very nice people (most times).

What would your friends/family say is your most annoying habit? That I sometimes won’t let things go when they perhaps should be.

What is something people don’t know about you? I’m a private person and people wouldn’t know a lot about me. However, one thing they may not know are the enormous hours that I work each week.

What one thing would you like to see happen in the local area? I’m Chairman of Reimagine Nambour and I believe that Nambour will “have its day in the sun” again in the not-too-distant future which I will be very happy to see.

Best local activity & why? I think that our beaches are our best local activity – it’s free and everyone can enjoy them.

Best thing about your town (apart from the people)? It’s resilience to deal with adversity or challenges that it’s had to endure over time such as the Mill closing, the opening of the Kawana Hospital and the next challenge will be the Council moving to Maroochydore.

Is there a local business, community group, club or person you’d like to give a shout-out to? Yes – all those people who volunteer and make our town, our area and Australia a great place to live.

What would you like to say? I have been a Partner of Butler McDermott Lawyers since 1 July 1977. I have had many great experiences in the law and I am eternally grateful to all of the people who have supported our business and more to the point, who have entrusted me with their work over the years.
