Discover vintage delights at Collectorama Fair in Nambour

Long time stallholder, Anita Pitchag, a firm favourite with Collectorama regulars.

If you’ve ever been to a big vintage fair you’ll know the immense thrill when you find something special.

The atmosphere is humming,  the vendors’ wares are attractively arranged, people are chatting and laughing, then eureka - you nab your bargain! It’s a real buzz for sure.

Collectorama certainly is a big Fair, and one of the best parts is the incredible variety.

“You never know what you’re going to find,” said organiser, Laurie Wall.

“Maybe it’s a pair of 1950’s cats eye sunglasses, a vintage typewriter or an amazing lamp that catches your eye, a sleek mid century chair, or pair of silver candlesticks, some longed for vinyl records, a vintage toy, or it could be a rare tool or book. Most avenues of collecting are there.”

“It’s a bit like being transported back in time. Each stall is a time capsule, filled with items from past eras and you can’t help but imagine the stories behind some of the pieces. And often the dealers can actually tell you the provenance, which adds extra kudos to the item,” she said.

It’s a great experience to visit Collectorama and become immersed in different eras, connect with the past and bring home some cool vintage history.

Tom Wall, aka Mr Collectorama, said “it’s the best opportunity to take advantage of so many dealers all at the same location. Collectorama is a giant vintage convergence with lots of good vibes on the day. It’s gratifying to see everyone having fun after the intricate work of organising the event.”

You’ll find all this vintage goodness at Nambour Showgrounds on Saturday the 3rd of June from 7am until 2pm. Entry is $6 cash per adult, kids and parking are free.  WILVOS, the amazing Wildlife Carers, will be in their usual spot near the cafe area. Meet up with friends, savour the variety of food trucks and enjoy the unique opportunity to shop amongst the vintage mother lode!
