When it comes to selling your home, the selection of an agent plays a crucial role. We took to the streets of Nambour and Nambour Plaza to understand what factors truly matter to the public when choosing their representative for the home sale.
Here’s what we found:
1. Relationship: Around 3% of respondents preferred agents they had a personal connection with, such as friends, family, or business contacts.
2. Agent of Purchase: 10% opted for the agent who originally sold them the property, emphasizing the significance of trust.
3. No. 1 Selling Agent: A substantial 30% believed in choosing the #1 selling agent in their area, valuing local knowledge and expertise.
4. Effective Marketing: About 27% placed emphasis on marketing, seeking an agent with a strong ‘top of mind’ presence to attract potential buyers.
5. Referrals: Around 12% were guided by recommendations from their network, highlighting the power of referrals from trusted sources.
6. Commission Considerations: About 7% leaned towards agents offering the lowest commission as a deciding factor.
7. Cost-Effective Marketing: Only 2% were swayed by free or low-cost marketing options, indicating a preference for value-added services.
8. Brand Relationship: About 4% considered their relationship with the real estate brand as influential in their decision-making.
9. Community Presence: Around 5% valued an agent’s community presence and involvement as a compelling factor.
It is important to note that many people said their decision would be made by weighing up a combination of factors, with a main factor being the anchor of their decision.
These insights highlight the diverse range of priorities when selecting a home-selling agent. Understanding what matters most to you ensures a smoother, more satisfying experience in the selling process.
