Groups join forces to freshen prominent CBD shop fronts
Nambour Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with Reimagine Nambour and Council’s Economic Development team to add a fresh look and some sparkle to several prominent CBD facades.
On the one hand Reimagine Nambour’s Peter Clark arranged for Graeme Brown and Brett Warren from Signtown Nambour to apply brightly coloured window wraps to various vacant tenancies in the Nambour CBD to enhance potential retail/business investment.
“We utilised the IAmNambour brand in the window wraps and it has visually enhanced the Nambour CBD,” Peter said.
Meawnhile, Chamber President Mark Bray co-ordinated various shop-front facade clean ups with thanks to Jon McCabe, owner of Water Attack Pressure Washing.
“Some months ago the Chamber identified some building facades in Nambour that could do with some TLC,” said Mark.
“The cleaning has certainly brightened up the town,” said Mark. “It was a joint effort and an example of what can be done when we get together and cooperate.
“A big thank you and gratitude, to Water Attack Pressure Washing for a great job, the Council Economic Development Team for their funding assistance, and to the building owners who were prepared to join in this project and contribute funds to the works.”
The facades cleaned included: Chadwick Chambers; the previous Downtown Burgers premises; Radiology Building (Cnr Currie and Howard Streets); Carolans Real Estate; Nambour Disposal and the Mill Street Carpark.
IAmNambour ambassador Rhonda Billett said the projects exemplified what could be achieved when key community groups worked with council and government.
“And there’s lots more coming Nambour’s way in the next 12 months under the Nambour CBD Activation Plan,” she said. “This is just the start of what the Nambour community organisations are joining forces to achieve.
“If anyone wants to get involved or donate their time, we would love to hear from you, especially as we roll out more and more activation and events for Nambour.”
The projects were funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements in conjunction with Sunshine Coast Council.
