Burns Property changes hands
After 17 years in real estate Mike Burns, Director of Burns Property in Palmwoods, handed over the reins of his agency to Kira Steinhaus last week.
“I have enjoyed my years of working in real estate in this beautiful area very much,” Mike said.
“I will be staying on but also taking some time to enjoy life. The team here have been incredible to work with and I am looking forward to taking my foot off the pedal a little and watching Kira take the agency to the next place in it’s evolution.
“She is extremely dynamic and brings what I believe to be a unique set of skills and experience to real estate. There are some very exciting developments in the pipeline.”
“My working career has been pretty varied and interesting,” Kira said. “I have worked in personal development, media sales, financial services and insurance, property education and development, and most recently, here at Burns Property for the past 18 months. Funnily enough, my experiences have dovetailed and led me to where I am now.
“I am passionate about our environment, taking care of it, and the legacy we leave for future generations. It is imperative that we nurture and understand our environment better. The fantastic thing is that when development is done in a careful and conscious way, not only do we protect the land, but property becomes more valuable and holds its value better. With careful planning we can actually absorb the damage that is caused by poor planning.
“As far as property is concerned, the best way you can make an impact is by starting with a block of land. Larger block sizes and stricter covenants are really important. I work with a team of architects, designers and construction professionals to develop blocks and homes to optimise location and position for the maximum health of the planet and the home. Our developments will be for the owner/ occupier market and I intend to set a trend and raise the bar in this area of real estate.”
Tony joins the team
Joining the team is Woombye local and agent, Tony Silver. “I have spent most of my career in construction and ‘fell’ into real estate, almost by accident,” Tony said.
“I was fortunate to have had a few big opportunities straight away, with cattle property listings in Queensland and the Northern Territory. I enjoyed the experience very much and as I have a very strong, life long network on the Coast, I am really happy to be working in real estate locally.”
“We have some exciting projects on the drawing board at the moment, and moving forward, we are looking forward to educating people about realising their property’s potential and creating a healthier and more harmonious balance between people and property,” Kira said.
