Nambour ‘Young Influencer’ recognised in prestigious Australasian Lawyer honour list

Bridie Edwards at her Nambour office “I was absolutely shocked but very excited by this recognition.”

After just four years practising law, Bradley and Bray’s Associate Director, Bridie Edwards, has been recognised as one of Australasian Lawyer's Most Influential Lawyers for 2024.

The Australasian Lawyer's prestigious list honours legal professionals who have made significant contributions to the industry. The 2024 list celebrates 47 influential lawyers who have delivered positive outcomes in support of their peers and the industry. Bridie was named alongside just 17 lawyers from all around Australia in the ‘Young Influencers’ category.

Detailing what it means to be deemed influential, Megan Gallagher, Senior Consultant for legal, risk and compliance at recruitment firm Robert Walters, says, “It’s no secret that the work of a lawyer is demanding and relentless. When I think about what makes someone an influential lawyer in 2024, the first qualities that come to mind are drive, a strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.”

“I was absolutely shocked but very excited by this recognition,” Ms Edwards said.

“But at our firm, we are constantly looking for ways to make the practice of Law a more innovative, and in turn, accessible and efficient space. We have an incredible team here, and it is because of their dedication and support that my extra curricular activities are possible.”

Ms Edwards explained “We utilise technology to streamline processes and this drives efficiency for not just our clients, but our staff as well.”

A true leader and innovator, Ms Edwards was elected as the youngest member of the Queensland Law Society Council for two consecutive terms and has also contributed to the InfoTrack Legal Tech Advisory Group for two years, being a part of its inaugural group just last year.

Despite aspiring to a career as a TV journalist, Ms Edwards showed an early aptitude for Law.

“I really wanted to do Lisa Wilkinson’s job,” she laughed. “But my Legal Studies teacher at school suggested that I might be better suited to Law, and so here we are.”

Ms Edwards completed her studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast, and after finishing her degree, applied to work at Nambour’s Bradley and Bray Lawyers.

“What we strive to maintain here is a very close and supportive environment for our entire team,” she said.

“We have clients who have been with this firm for decades and I think the fact that we are warm, make the law accessible for our clients, but also embrace and use technology to make it as smooth as possible, really helps.”
