Bradley & Bray Lawyers appoints first female and youngest director

Bradley & Bray Lawyers has announce the promotion of Bridie Edwards to Associate Director.

Nambour firm, Bradley & Bray Lawyers, has announce the promotion of Bridie Edwards to Associate Director – making her the first female and youngest director in the firm’s 40-plus years history.

“I am extremely proud of the growth we have experienced in our firm and our amazing team for all of their hard work and efforts,” Ms Edwards said.

“I am honoured to be the youngest and first female Director in the firm’s 40-year history, but I am even more proud to follow in the footsteps of our retired Director Mark Bray who created and led an incredible firm and workplace over his career. The work he did, alongside our current Director Jacob Corbett, and leadership given to support our team, enabled the top-quality service to our clients we provide today. I am very grateful for Mark, Jacob and our Partner Peter Griffin’s support and encouragement over my time with the firm, which has helped me get to where I am today.”

Director Jacob Corbett said Ms Edwards had been instrumental in the practice being recognised nationally and internationally in recent years.

“Bridie remains a consistent driving force in all areas of our practice, however particularly in the areas of innovation, diversity and community involvement,” he said.

He said Ms Edwards rise to Associate Directorship marks a new era for the firm.

“The time has come for Bridie to be recognised not just as a young female industry leader, but as an industry leader.”

Ms Edwards' contributions to the profession have been widely recognised. She was named in the prestigious Australasian Lawyers Rising Stars award for 2023 and was also named a finalist in the highly competitive 2023 Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 awards for Commercial Law.

Regionally, she was acknowledged as one of the Sunshine Coast Daily's Rising Stars under 30 in 2022 and one of the Top 12 Young Lawyers in the same year.

In 2022, she completed a Masters Degree in Business Law and Transactions, further enriching her legal knowledge and skills.

She became the youngest ever elected member on the Queensland Law Society Council in 2021 and serves on five committees, including CPD, Governance, Professional Conduct, Innovation, and Finance and Risk.

She was appointed as an inaugural member of the Infotrack Legal Tech Advisory Group, as an industry consultant, advocating for the effective adoption of technology to drive innovation in legal practice.
