Big Bike Film Night 2023: Cycling Celebration in Sunshine Coast

The event promises an array of international movies for cycling enthusiasts.

The Big Bike Film Night is set to roll into the Sunshine Coast's Nambour on September 7, showcasing a collection of cycling-inspired short films. Now in its 9th year, the event promises a captivating array of international movies carefully curated for cycling enthusiasts.

The Big Bike Film Night has evolved into a Film Festival that embraces the joy of cycling through an expertly chosen selection of global films. The 2023 compilation comprises 10 diverse films, including a world premiere, two Australian highlights, and international premiers.

The evening kicks off with "Return to Dillon Cone," an awe-inspiring tale of a team's five-year pursuit to summit an untouched peak accessible only by a daring river-crossing and mountain biking adventure.

The lineup continues with a variety of inspiring stories, including a young Australian bikepacker's journey, a spirited 74-year-old cyclist in Tuscany, and the resilience of a family embracing life to the fullest.

Curator Brett Cotter emphasised the power of storytelling and the bicycle's ability to uplift and inspire. The event aims to unite communities through captivating narratives that encourage cycling. The Big Bike Film Night screens at Majestic Cinemas Nambour on September 7th at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.bigbikefilmnight.nz, www.majesticcinemas.com.au, or directly from the cinema.
