Bamboo Park promotes organic practices, replenishes sugar cane land

Bamboo Park owners Ed and Julia Wright welcome everyone to come and visit the piglets, plants and even a house made from bamboo.

Business Writeup: Bamboo Park, Valdora

Bamboo Park at Valdora is an organic farm and tropical nursery, specialising in screening and hedging plants.

It was created by proprietors Ed Wright and Julia Collantes, who had a vision to continue to replenish the former sugar cane farm and promote the many benefits of clumping bamboo.

“Our nursery and organic farm is a natural and regenerative oasis,” said Ed, who has years of experience and practical knowledge, having worked at horticultural and agricultural properties around the world.

“It’s very gratifying to solve problems which people may have with screening out new development, eyesores, and too-close neighbours.

“Our customers also often value being able to contribute to carbon sequestration by planting these beautiful varieties of bamboo.”

Bamboo Park is brimming with varieties of clumping non-invasive bamboo and tropical plants, often used for screening as a natural barrier for privacy.

“Bamboo is great for deflecting neighbourhood noise and visible eyesores,” said Julia. “The right plants also provide shade, privacy, benefits for wildlife, and valuable carbon sequestration.  We love helping people find the right plant for the right purpose.”

The Nursery also features tropical and house-plants along with organic composts and mulches, all within the magical atmosphere of a beautiful bamboo plantation.

“We welcome everyone to come and visit and see our piglets, plants and bamboo house, made with traditional Indonesian methods,” said Julia.

“Children and dogs are welcome. We think we’ve managed to build an inspirational and unique venue where visitors can buy bamboo and other plants, meet the animals and enjoy nature.”

Lychee giveaway aligns with festival

Bamboo Park is giving the gift of lychees, representing close family ties, with all bamboo purchases during the Chinese Spring Festival (Sunday 22nd Jan - Sunday 5th February).

“As a family business, we particularly like that lychees represent close family ties. We are very happy to be giving locally-grown lychees with bamboo purchases during the Chinese Spring Festival” said Ed.

Bamboo Park is at 919 Yandina Coolum Road, Valdora, open Wednesdays-Sundays, 7am-5pm Phone 0456 727 024.
