Artists add colour and vibrancy to Nambour

A very creative group of people is working hard to colour Nambour, including this work at Backbeat Records in Howard Street, pictured.

Street Art Nambour organiser Lorraine Taylor said she saw a need to update the mural because it was fading out and it was on the route of Nambour’s new tram track.

“Backbeat Records requested we use the same Street artist, Jason Kasino from Brisbane, and we were in agreement,” said Lorraine. “We never compromise another artists work if we can avoid it. Despite some rain, Jason ploughed on and completed it to everyone’s satisfaction.”

JC Hire from Nambour supplied scaffold so it could be done with ease and safety and Nambour Central Motel put Jason up for the time he was working on the mural.

“Without local support like this we couldn’t do this,” said Lorraine.

“Despite losing Hendrix from this site, we are in negotiations with a local hotel to have him moved there.”

“We have completed four murals this week with more to come next week. And we still need donations to pay our incredible artists.” Check out www.streetartnambour.org for details.
