Where to commemorate Anzac Day locally
Join the main Anzac Day April 25 ceremony in Nambour to honour the service and sacrifice of the original Anzacs and all the service men and women who have followed in their footsteps.
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I.
In the time-honoured tradition of Anzac Day services, the main Anzac Day ceremony – hosted RSL Nambour Sub Branch – will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post and the observance of a minute’s silence.
Join the march, line the street or assemble direct at Quota Memorial Park.

Anzac Day Dawn Service
Join the 2023 Anzac Day Dawn Service in Nambour to honour all Australians and New Zealanders who have served or sacrificed in wars and conflicts since World War I. Key Timings: 5:15am veterans assemble in Ann Street opposite RSL Club; 5:28am march to Wall of Remembrance - Quota Memorial Park. Community members assemble in park by 5:30am.
Maleny Services
The Anzac Day march has long been the centerpiece of Maleny Anzac Day commemorations. Participants wanting to March should assemble at the corner of Maple and Fig Streets, Maleny at 10am. The March will step off at 10.30am. Transport will be available for Veterans unable to March but who want to participate. Community groups and Schools are welcome to be involved. The March will conclude at the RSL Hall, 1 Bunya Street, Maleny.
• A Dawn Service will be held at RSL Maleny Cenotaph and RSL Hall followed by Gunfire Breakfast in the Hall. The Hall will be open from 4am with tea and coffee available.
• A Service will also be held at the Soldiers Memorial Walk at Maleny Soldiers Memorial Hospital from 9am-9.35am outside in and around the Gazebo at the rear of the Hospital building. The Maleny Hospital is one of two Soldier’s Memorial Hospitals in Queensland. All welcome to attend.
• A Witta Cemetery Service will commence with a short march from the front gates of the Witta Cemetery to the rotunda at 8.45am. At the conclusion of this short service, participants are asked to move to the grave sites of Veterans and stand for reflection - a moving moment. 8.45am - 9.05am at the Witta Cemetery, Old Witta School, Witta Rec Club. Bli Bli
Join the main Anzac Day ceremony in Bli Bli. Hosted RSL Sunshine Coast And Regions District Office Sub Branch, the ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post and the observance of a minute’s silence on Tuesday 25 April from 9am -10am at the Cenotaph Parklakes Drive, Bli Bli. The Dawn Service will be held at the Montville Memorial Gates on the Village Green to be followed by gunfire breakfast in the Montville Hall on Tuesday 25 April from 5.30am-6.30am. Email: matthew.dykes@mapleton.rslqld.net.au.
