Tilt Espresso’s new owner Dee Croxton has a passion for fresh food, baking and wholesome cooking.

Armed only with her mum’s favourite recipes and a determination to spread joy through home cooking, Dalia (Dee) Croxton started her business, Cakes By You From Me.

That was five years ago. Now, having created thousands of lovingly baked and decorated celebration cakes, cookies, cupcakes and sweet treats for her devoted customers, Dee has taken her business from her family kitchen and given it a home at Tilt Espresso in Nambour.

“It was time to give my baking business a home where my customers could come and collect their goodies, and relax with a coffee or light meal at the same time,” said Dee. “When the opportunity came up to purchase Tilt I was ready to take that next step and this was the perfect fit. I am blown away by the welcome I have had from the Nambour community and so grateful for their support.”

Dee has a passion for fresh food, baking and wholesome cooking and this is reflected in her menu.

“I am a firm believer in knowing what you are eating. Everything is baked from scratch and made using my own tried and tested recipes.

“I take great inspiration from my mum who instilled fresh is best into me,” she said.

Dee lets her creativity and available fresh ingredients determine what will be on each day’s menu.

“It can vary from cheese and spinach pastries to ham and pineapple scrolls, wraps, sliders, savoury mince jaffles and breakfast wraps. Then comes the sweets with almond and jam biscotti, brownies, assorted tarts, cupcakes, carrot and walnut cakes, cookies, each day is different and I post on Instagram and Facebook what’s on offer that day,” Dee said. “And so far people are really enjoying the variety.”

The Cakes By You From Me arm of the business is going from strength to strength from its new home. “It is an honour and a pleasure to continue on, using my mum’s well-loved recipes. I get to be part of the most special times in people’s lives. I have baked all kinds of celebration cakes from engagements, weddings, birthdays of all ages, anniversaries and baby showers, personalised cookies and pastries.”

“I am happy to work to individual budgets because I get the most incredible pleasure from what I do. I am so excited to be where I am and to be able to bring my love of baking to Nambour.”
