Heritage Sponsorship Evening $96,000 awarded to community

A tough 2020 has been made a little bit brighter for 24 local community groups who will share in over $96,000 in funding as the recipients of 2020 Heritage Palmwoods Community Branch Sponsorship Program.

Heritage Palmwoods Community Branch is a joint-venture between Heritage Bank and the local Palmwoods Community, represented by Palmwoods Community Branch Ltd (PCB). It was established after 99 local investors raised $200,000 in capital to help set up the branch in 2006.

Under the Heritage community branch model, the PCB’s share of the profits then goes back to the community via sponsorships to deserving local organisations and community events & projects that will benefit the Palmwoods Community.

“That’s why it’s so important that the community do their banking with Heritage Palmwoods Community Branch by actually coming into the Palmwoods Branch,” said Director Audrey Lyttle. “The more people who choose to do their banking directly with Heritage Palmwoods, the more Heritage and PCB can support local community organisations with much-needed funding. It’s about Palmwoods Community Branch Directors, Heritage and the Community working together to support each other and the area. This inclusive experience is a big part of the branch’s success and helps spread the word about the benefits of community banking.”
