Church introduces service for Palmwoods on Christmas Eve

Father Odinakachukwu (Odinaka) Nwadike. “Christmas without Christ is like a wedding without a bride”

In true small town spirit, Palmwoods Anglicans are lending their St Augustines Church to Nambour Catholic Parish so they can introducing a Christmas Eve service in the village.

“The Palmwoods Anglican Church in Hill St kindly offers us use of their church and community hall for these Masses,” said Church spokesperson Margy Manfield.

Margy said the Christmas Eve Service would be led by St Joseph’s Catholic Parish Priest Reverend Father Odinaka Nwadike who started in Nambour in February.

Father Nwadike’s parish includes Nambour, Kenilworth, Palmwoods, Yandina and Bli Bli.

“He’s a lovely man and he’s very keen to get youth, young adults and families back into church,” said Margy.

“In any case we meet the third Sunday of each month at the Anglican Church in Hill Street Palmwoods and hope to make it every fortnight if people are interested.

“Palmwoods Christmas Service is 4pm Christmas Eve and we’ll have some of the students of St Johns doing the music which will be lovely.”

Father Odinaka said he was looking forward to the busy Christmas program with the whole of the Community coming together to celebrate Christ’s Incarnation, because “Christmas without Christ is like a wedding without a bride”.
