“We have been here for 10 years and we look after loads of trades customers,” said co-owner, Cherrie Thies. 

“In fact, we know 80-90 percent of our customers by name. We know their regular orders and can pretty much start cooking as soon as we see them walk in the door,” Cherrie said.

“For us, it is all about fast service of quality food. Most of our customers are really time limited so we try to get them in and out again as quickly as possible. We also keep our prices very reasonable and our customers often comment about how much food they get for their money,” she said. “People come from as far away as Gympie and up on the Range for our burgers. We’ve been described as a ‘hidden gem’”.

The staff at the Windsor Road Lunchbox have been there for many years and know their regular customers well. The team also regularly caters for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, local schools and the Post Office.

“Myself and my partner Lyndell are ex Coles and KFC,” said Cherrie. “We know the business of service inside out. But while we have come from that very Corporate background, we are all about relationships and community. We even have a ‘pay it forward’ tin on the front counter and everyone from our team to our customers love to feel they can participate in paying it forward, even if it is in a small way. It’s what makes this such a great business to be in.”
