Yandina State School has officially opened a new two-storey, $19.64 million learning and administration centre to support its growing student population.

The state-of-the-art facility includes six new classrooms, specialist rooms, and a dedicated music space, which had previously been taught outdoors. The centre also boasts a kitchen, art area, staff breakout rooms, and a more accessible administration space for students, teachers, and visitors.

The project also introduced upgraded infrastructure, including a new IT network with fibre optic connections, a staff car park, and a revamped sewer system. Sports facilities were not overlooked, with the addition of a new court for basketball, netball, and tennis, along with sports sheds to support the school’s growing needs.

Nicklin MP Rob Skelton praised the development, highlighting the school’s strong reputation and growth in recent years.

“Yandina State School has made a positive difference to students’ academic learning and emotional wellbeing. These new facilities will ensure every student has access to purpose-built spaces,” Mr Skelton said.

Principal Michael Cookman welcomed the new centre, noting its significance for both academic and extracurricular activities.

“These facilities will provide a learning environment that supports not only academic growth but also rich cultural and sporting opportunities,” he said.

For the growing Yandina community, this project promises a better future for students in a more inclusive and well-equipped school environment.
