Woombye State School celebrates in an explosion of colour and fun
It was a day filled with bright colours and even brighter smiles as Woombye State School held its fundraising Colour Run last Friday.
Organiser and Woombye State School Chaplain Jamie Weidinger said the explosion of colour was a reward for the school community’s efforts in raising funds for the P&C and Chaplaincy program.
“We raised over $20,000 with monies going towards a future Adventure Playground for the school,” he said. “The Colour Run was organised with a group who specialise in these events. The response from our school community was extremely favourable. Except for multi-coloured children going home in cars at the end of the day,” he joked. “I think many children would have been on car cleaning duty on the weekend for sure.
“This was our third event and each time it has been a wonderful occasion for our students. I’m sure we’ll do it again. Bigger and better I say!”
