Sarah Elizabeth Mangino and Brett William Stone were married at St Margaret’s Church Woombye last Saturday (October 16) in front of family and friends.

In a nod to traditional values the couple opted for a small, Christian marriage. “We wanted an intimate wedding for a small number of guests,” said Sarah.

Sarah is a registered nurse and her family have lived in Woombye for many years, while Brett has owned Palmwoods Vet practice for the past 23 years.

“We feel a genuine connection to the community, especially Brett,” said Sarah. “It’s a beautiful little church which reflected my desire for a traditional wedding and reminded me of my childhood church. St Margaret’s is quite an historical church on the Sunshine Coast.

“Reverend Ralph Bowles and the Anglican parish of Nambour and surrounds were very accommodating of our differing but similar faiths.”

Brett is protestant while Sarah is a Catholic. The couple invited Pastor Tim Peters from Calvary church to pray a blessing.
