Woombye netball teams win at Caloundra Carnival

Recently the Woombye Netball Club sent five teams to compete in the Caloundra Netball Carnival with all teams placing well. The U13yrs Funky Monkeys were undefeated winners , U10yrs Wildcats undefeated winners, U14yrs Warriors came runners up , U11yrs Dynamite placed third, with the Hornets finishing up in fourth position in U16yrs.Woombye Wildcats, Under 10 years - division 1 undefeated winners:  this team is a constant surprise to  other teams, as they appear small but they are fast, want the ball and can jump. Because they are smaller, they have had to work very hard to get the ball. They now have wonderful skills and each player can play anywhere on court.  If these girls continue to play netball and work as hard as they do, they will be players to watch in the future.Molly Pitcher-Webster, Amali Scott, Amber Rose, Tahlia Perren, Marlee Giles have played netball together for four  years now.  Pandora Bundellu, Kasey Hawkins & Ella Rose joined the team this year (previously from other teams) and fit in perfectly to make up an amazing team of positive, thoughtful and talented young girls.  Tenayah Matthews has been a reliable and regular fill-in this year for carnivals as she was in the team last year. "As a coach this team really excites me and I am proud to be their coach,” says Sandy Pitcher.A big thank you to those parents, family and friends who are very supportive of their children’s sporting activities and bring them along to these fantastic netball days, where the teams are not only there to compete but to have fun. All the team coaches and managers had a great day and look forward to next year's carnival event.
