Woombye Library patrons to benefit from new parking spaces on Hill Street

30-minute timed parking will be applied to two spaces outside the library.

In a move applauded by the Woombye Community Library, the Council has recently approved the allocation of two half-hour timed parking spaces located close to the library entrance at the front of the hall on Hill Street. This decision comes as part of the Council’s dynamic approach to parking management in the area, reflecting the evolving parking demands.

Spokesperson for the library Cathy Cash expressed her enthusiasm, stating: “Library patrons will soon be able to park conveniently to return their books and still have plenty of time to browse for their next great reads,” she said.

On another note, the library announced its decision to close for three hours on the first Monday morning of every month.

The closure will facilitate administrative tasks. “We hope our loyal borrowers will appreciate that some dedicated admin time each month will help us continue to provide the best possible service to our hinterland community,” Cathy said.

Meanwhile, Cathy recommended a Spring reading tip for library patrons: the 2023 Miles Franklin award-winning “Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens” by Shankari Chandran.

The parking changes are a strategic move by the Council Parking and Transport team to balance parking demands without compromising the attractiveness of the area. Those with further inquiries regarding the parking changes are encouraged to reach out to ParkingManagement@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.
