Investigation into the incident remains ongoing and a decision about the enforcement action will not be made until the investigation is finalised.The two dogs responsible for the attack were surrendered to Council by their owners and were subsequently euthanised.To reduce the risk of dog attack, prevention is the key.Dog owners must take responsibility for managing and controlling their animals at all times to ensure that other people and animals are protected.Owners should conduct regular checks of their property’s fences or containments to ensure their dog is not looking for ways to escape.It is also vitally important to train and socialise the dog with other animals and people throughout its life.
