Wildlife HQ launches ‘night at the zoo’ after-dark experience

Servals come alive, along with heaps of other nocturnal animals during the Night Zoo experience at Woombye’s Wildlife HQ.

Wildlife HQ is about to launch Night Zoo providing an unforgettable experience, where you can see some extraordinary animals ‘in action’ after dark.

“You can take a very special guided tour through our rainforest gardens seeing some of our nocturnal residents such as Tasmanian Devils, African Wild Dogs, Servals, Red Pandas, Binturong and Maned Wolf, who are most active after the sun goes down,” said CEO Jarrod Schenke.

“We use environmentally sensitive lighting, allowing visitors a rare up-close opportunity of seeing these incredible animals’ social habits and feeding behaviours — quite an incredible sight!”

“The Night Zoo will be the first of its kind on the Sunshine Coast. Spaces are very limited to ensure a personal experience for our guests. We are so excited for our visitors to see the zoo come alive after dark.

“It is an entirely different zoo. The monkeys who are such a popular draw card during the day have all gone to sleep. And the carnivores come to life at night.

“Our keepers will feed the African Painted dogs and Tasmanian devils. And visitors will be able to see these incredible animals showing off their natural group feeding behaviours.

“We are very excited about offering something new for families to do on the Sunshine Coast at night. It’s an adventure for all ages and with the weather warming up it’s a great way to get outside and experience nature and learn about wildlife conservation.”

  • Night Zoo will launch on November 18 and run every Friday and Saturday evening from 6.30pm. Spaces are strictly limited to 25 people per tour to ensure an intimate and personal experience. Pre-booking is essential by emailing info@whqzoo.com. Tours are expected to book out and will run for a limited season only.
