‘Let us do the cooking’: Spoil Mum with Vietnamese street food on Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, it seems only fitting that sisters Hien and Hoai Phan of Nambour’s Vietnomnom will be cooking up authentic Vietnamese street food inspired by their mother’s cooking. The ladies will be putting together mouth watering platters of fresh, healthy and tasty food so that you can spoil your mum on Sunday.

Hien and Hoai use fresh, fragrant and nourishing ingredients and all of the elements, from slow cooked broths and stocks to mayonnaise are made in house, from scratch.

“This is the real secret to the flavour I think,” said Hien.

“The quality of the food is so important. And because of the fresh nature of Vietnamese food, it is not only tasty, but a really healthy choice as well. So far, everyone’s favourite seems to be our rice paper rolls. They are so light and tasty. We are very proud of them. But our soups and bahn mi are also best sellers. The soups are particularly good as the weather is turning cooler.”

Hien and Hoai have been catering since 2020 and have just celebrated their first birthday at their current location in Coronation Avenue

“Our catering business has grown in leaps and bounds and we are now cooking for all kinds of events, from simple family picnics, to parties, corporate events and weddings,” said Hien.

While there is a small area in the shop where customers can dine in, the venue is still better suited for takeaway.

“Mother’s Day is a really great opportunity to try some authentic, fresh, homemade Vietnamese cuisine. Our motto is ‘let us do the cooking’,” Hien laughed. “It is even better if the food is healthy!”

You can find Vietnomnom at 2/43 Coronation Avenue Nambour. To order your platter or enquire about catering, write to the girls on vietnomnom.enquiry@gmail.com or call Hien on 0434 899 297.
